The Fujifilm X-Pro2 Camera:

I have now completed the switch from my DSLR system to mirrorless with the purchase of the Fujifilm X-Pro2 camera. It has made a serious inroads towards full-frame systems. For an APS-C sensor, it performs very well in all situations, image quality, low-light performance and I think has become the benchmark for many mirrorless users.

Out of all the X Series cameras that I’ve owned, X100, X-E1 and X-E2, this one feels the most comfortable (it’s one of the heavier but solid mirrorless cameras on the market), it has the snappiest focusing speed and responds well to to all my lenses. (18-55mm, 14mm f2.8 & 23mm f1.4).

After a few months of using it, there are a couple of things that I wish were different: (1) The location of the “Q” button on the right-side of the camera which I frequently tend to accidentally press, when picking up the camera (the X-E2 “Q” button location is much better). (2) Battery life (this is a huge issue).

On my first trip with the X-Pro2, to the Cariboo country of British Columbia, I only used the camera with the 18-55mm f2.8-4 lens. It handled all situations without effort.

Here is a sampling of images I made of the historic mining town of Barkerville B.C.
